Temple Beth Sholom

ABOUT US

Our Mission

Temple Beth Sholom, a dynamic, egalitarian Conservative Temple, aims to be a leading congregation in the Sarasota-Manatee area by providing the Jewish community outstanding religious, educational, and cultural experiences.

Our Vision

Temple Beth Sholom aims to be a leading source of ritualistic, educational, and social experiences for the Sarasota-Manatee Jewish community. To achieve this, Temple Beth Sholom seeks to create a spiritual community (kehillah) steeped in Conservative Jewish traditions. TBS will provide a warm and welcoming environment in which congregants can explore and find their own unique spirituality.

Our kehillah values congregational diversity and encourages innovative and uplifting experiences. TBS will proactively promote involvement across all age groups, with an enhanced emphasis on engaging and retaining young families. We encourage unaffiliated Jews of all denominations to join us in building an outstanding and sustainable Jewish community.

Learning

Our educational programs are first-class, offering a wide variety of rich and diverse educational and experiential opportunities and a robust adult education program including Adult B'Nai Mitzvah classes (pictured left). Our goal is to provide for a lifetime of Jewish learning. We also host a sizable library and media center, wherein our members may check out materials at no charge.

Prayer & Worship

A full-service synagogue, we offer a variety of worship services including daily minyan, services for children, as well as our regularly scheduled Shabbat, Festival and High Holy Day services. Services are a wonderful mix of traditional melodies, Hebrew songs, Torah chanting, and joyous spirit. We welcome you to find your Jewish home at Temple Beth Sholom. Our main sanctuary, constructed in 1931, is on the National Register of Historic Places and provides a truly awe-inspiring space in which to practice Jewish ritual life.

Now, as always, Temple Beth Sholom is your home.
