Zoom Presentation by the Chancellor Shuly Rubin Schwartz of the Jewish Theology Seminary

Thursday, January 21 at 1:00 pm on Zoom

Dr. Schwartz is a renowned expert on Jewish American history with more than three decades of experience as a professor and institutional leader. Chancellor Schwartz will speak on the topic: American Jewry in the time of Corona - Challenges, Opportunities and Enduring Resilience.

Chancellor Schwartz was one of the first women on the JTS faculty and was instrumental in the addition of Jewish gender studies to the curriculum. As a scholar, she brought to light the previously overlooked contributions of women to the development of American Judaism and expanded our understanding of modern American Jewish society and culture. Among her publications is the award-winning book, The Rabbi’s Wife, a penetrating examination of the role of rabbis’ wives in the development of American Jewish life.

We are honored to be the first Conservative Jewish Congregation on the west coast of Florida to host Chancellor Schwartz. This presentation is open to the entire Jewish community free of charge.
