LIFE AND DEATH DECISIONS with Barbara Field, Writing Your Memoir for Future Generations

Tuesday, October 19, at 7:00 p.m. on Zoom

What is Writing Life Stories (memoir writing)?

I have a business in which I teach non-writers how to leave a legacy for their families and discover more about who they are. I use a guided method that was taught for over 30 years that helps people write quickly and easily. Students share their work with a supportive group and really enjoy the process. Medical and psychological journals reveal evidence of the proven benefits of this methodology.

About Me

I'm a dynamic speaker and instructor. I've given presentations at museums, universities, and libraries in NY, CA, and FL (from Lawrence Family JCC, The Walt Whitman Birthplace Museum, and Sarasota County Libraries to Baruch College (Business School Donor Luncheon) and The Women's Museum. I recently gave a presentation to Barnard Alumnae via Zoom in which 300 attended.

I was formerly on staff at CBS, Harcourt Brace, UC San Diego, and Pace University. I've freelanced for Microsoft and other clients, and I've published widely in newspapers and magazines. I was a women's empowerment leader who gave keynote speeches to corporations and at conferences. I also mentored for The Afghan Women's Writing Project and was Regional Manager at The OpEd Project, which amplified women and minority voices. I graduated from Barnard College-Columbia University.
