We Care Committee

we careThe We Care Committee of Temple Beth Sholom assists TBS members and their families in times of need. The Committee is ready to serve Temple Beth Sholom members in times of illness or death. During the year, We Care does a number of different things to help others in our Temple Beth Sholom family, including visiting members in the hospital, rehab, or who are homebound, providing meals for members who, due to illness or other circumstances, cannot help themselves, providing rides to services, medical appointments and to other events. We Care also ensures that Torah Fund cards are sent to individuals in these circumstances.

With new laws in place regarding the privatization of information with respect to Health Care, our ability to find out who has been hospitalized has become more challenging. Therefore, the We Care committee and Temple Beth Sholom depend upon the family and friends of a congregant to provide us with this information so we can arrange for visits.

Additionally, the We Care Committee will provide shiva meals to a family in mourning. We are able to provide these meals through the generosity and help of Temple Beth Sholom’s Sisterhood.

Our committee consists of caring, compassionate, giving individuals and we always welcome new members. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Joan Gurgold at (941) 358-6295.
