Havurot

Getting to know people in a large congregation can be intimidating for some people. A Havurah or Havurot (plural) is an easy way to become acquainted with others who have similar interests. Each Havurah usually consists of 6 to 12 couples, families or individuals who meet on a regular basis to celebrate Jewish life. The group decides what kind of activities in which they would like to participate. Some activities involve children, others do not. Either way, a Havurah allows synagogue members to make friendship connections within the larger congregational family as a member of a smaller group. Each Havurah plans its own social, educational, and spiritual activities to meet the interests and needs of the group.

Affiliated members of Temple Beth Sholom who desire to be a part of a more intimate community within the synagogue family should contact the Main Office at (941) 955 – 8121 for more information. There is no membership fee to participate in a Havurah.
